Privacy Policy
Effective September 1, 2026
This policy explains what data ShopifyProfit.ai and the ProfitAnalyzer Shopify app collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built this product to help Shopify merchants find margin leaks — not to harvest data — and this policy reflects that.
1. Information We Collect
When you use ShopifyProfit.ai — whether through the standalone web tool at shopifyprofit.co or the ProfitAnalyzer app installed from the Shopify App Store — we collect:
- Your email address, used to identify your account and save your analysis history.
- Your Shopify store domain (e.g. your-store.myshopify.com), collected when you install the ProfitAnalyzer app.
- The financial figures you enter for analysis — monthly revenue, cost of goods sold, ad spend, average order value, order count, shipping and fulfillment costs, return rate, app subscription costs, and other fixed costs.
- For merchants who install the ProfitAnalyzer Shopify app and use the store-data import feature, order totals, order counts, and return status pulled directly from your Shopify store via the Shopify Admin API, used only to pre-fill the analysis form.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to provide the margin analysis service you've asked for:
- To calculate your gross margin, contribution margin, marketing-adjusted contribution margin, and true net margin.
- To identify margin leaks and generate the fix-it recommendations shown in your results.
- To save your analysis history so you can track your margins over time (available on paid plans).
- To manage your subscription and enforce free-plan usage limits.
- To respond if you contact us with a question or support request.
Your financial inputs and analysis results are stored securely in our database, encrypted in transit, and are never used to train AI models or shared with any third party for marketing purposes.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your store data, financial figures, or analysis results with third parties.
- Anthropic (our AI provider) processes your financial inputs solely to generate your analysis, under a standard API data-processing agreement, and does not use this data to train its models.
- Stripe processes payment information for paid subscriptions; we never see or store your card details directly.
- Neon (our database provider) and Vercel (our hosting provider) store and serve the application's data on our behalf, under standard infrastructure hosting agreements.
None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes, and we do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information and analysis history for as long as your account remains active. If you uninstall the ProfitAnalyzer app, we retain your data for a limited period in case you reinstall, after which it is deleted in accordance with Shopify's data protection requirements for uninstalled apps.
You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us — see Section 6 below.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below and we'll respond promptly.
6. Contact Us
If you have questions about this privacy policy or how your data is handled, contact us at:

The ProfitAnalyzer app is built in accordance with the Shopify API License and Terms of Use and the Shopify App Store's data protection requirements. We request only the Shopify API scopes needed to provide the app's core functionality (read access to orders and products), and we support Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks for customer data requests, customer data redaction, and shop data redaction.
This policy applies to data collected through both the ProfitAnalyzer Shopify app and the standalone ShopifyProfit.ai web tool.
